No. Please use the
Medicine Collection Program
for proper disposal of medicine.

Sharps can be
disposed
of at both Hilltop and Downtown HyVee in Mankato.

Is it illegal to throw sharps in the garbage?
It is not illegal in Minnesota to dispose of home sharps in the garbage UNLESS they are in a red biohazard container. Those containers indicate wastes that must be handled by special companies. But for the safety of people who handle your waste, we encourage the use of this program.

Will you accept sharps in a red biohazard container?
Yes. These containers are accepted in this program.
