1. Is payment in full required the day of the sale?

Yes payment in full is required; we accept cash, approved check, or money orders. We do not offer any financing.

2. How do I register for the tax sale?

Registration is not necessary, just show up to place a bid.

3. Do you allow investors to invest at the tax sale without attending the sale?

Bidders must be present at our sales.

4. What type of deed is used to transfer title?

The state will issue a State Deed which has the characteristics of a patent from the state or is similar to a Quit Claim Deed. If you would like an explanation on how this type of deed affects the ownership and title, please contact an attorney.

5. What happens to the properties that do not sell at the auction? Can you purchase them later?

Properties that do not sell are available at the Property and Environmental Resources department in the 2nd floor of the Government Center.  They are available for the basic sale price listed until they are reappraised.

6. How often do you hold tax sales?

Sales are usually held once a year. They are advertised in The Free Press and the sales list is also available at the Property and Environmental Resources Department in the Government Center.
