On September 16, 2022, Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force Agents (MRVDTF) assisted the Mankato Department of Public Safety with the shooting incident which occurred that morning. During the execution of a search warrant at one of the involved residences, Task Force Agents located multi-colored pills that were stamped with an “M” on one side and “30” on the other. Agents conducted a field test on the pills and found them to contain fentanyl. These pills have the street name “Rainbow.”
In late August, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) sent out a media release warning the public of the multi-colored fentanyl pills which are used to target young Americans. The seizure last Friday was the first time MRVDTF Agents have encountered the multi-colored pills, all of the fentanyl pills seized so far in this area have been blue in color. More information can be found on the DEA website.
It is very important to talk with your kids, friends and loved ones about not taking any pill unless it is prescribed to you by a doctor.
