The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 6:20 p.m. on Thurs., June 6 of the discovery of possible human remains in a rural area within South Bend Township on private property. Responding deputies were able to locate partial skeletal remains in a heavily wooded area.
Preliminary information indicates the bones are human and will be sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for further analysis. The identity of the remains and cause of death is unknown.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) are working on the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call (507) 387-5601.
