Until further notice, based on the continuation of high temperatures and low humidity, there is a burn ban in effect for Blue Earth County in addition to other areas of the State.
Under a burn ban, the only allowed burning is for recreational fires contained within a 3x3 fire ring.
Outdoor burning is not recommended by the National Weather Service especially during the afternoon of Friday, May 6 when expected winds will be the strongest and air will be the driest.
Burn bans are issued when there is a Hazardous Fire Weather Warning/Red Flag Warning. Future updates will be provided by the Sheriff's Office when the burn ban is lifted.
