The Blue Earth County Taxpayer Services Department reminds manufactured home owners that the first half of their 2015 taxes must be paid by Aug. 31, 2015 to avoid late fees. Tax statements $50 or less require payment in full by Aug. 31, 2015. The Taxpayer Services office is located on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse at 204 S. 5th Street in Mankato.
Payments postmarked on or before that date will be accepted without penalty. Drop boxes for making payments are located outside the lower level (overlooking 4th Street) entrance of the Historic Courthouse, in the lobby of the downtown Hy-Vee Food Store and near the entrance of Cub Foods on Madison Avenue. Please include payment stubs with checks.
Manufactured home owners can also make current year tax payments at the following banks in Blue Earth County; US Bank Amboy, Community Bank Mankato branch in Vernon Center, MinnStar Bank in Lake Crystal, Peoples State Bank in Madison Lake, and St. Clair State Bank in St. Clair. Those paying taxes at these bank locations, are asked to bring their tax statements with them so correct amounts and information can be verified to provide better assistance.
Additionally, credit card payments are now accepted and may be made through the website at www.bectaxes.org. Those wishing to utilize this service should note that there are convenience fees charged including $1.49 per transaction for an e-check or 2.49% of the amount paid when using a credit card. American Express, MasterCard and Discover cards will be accepted.
