[ARCHIVED] Annual Business Bulb Collection Set for July 29

Businesses are invited to participate in the annual Business Bulb Collection event scheduled for Wed., July 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 651 Summit Avenue in Mankato.

Xcel Energy customers may dispose up to 10 fluorescent or other recyclable bulbs for free upon showing a copy of an Xcel Energy bill. Non-Xcel Energy customers and those with more than 10 bulbs can dispose of items at reduced prices. Checks should be made out to Retrofit Recycling.

Prices for varying bulb types have decreased from last year and are as follows:
• Four feet and shorter bulbs: $0.40
• More than four feet, circular, u-shaped and compact bulbs: $0.60
• HID lamps, mercury vapor/metal halide, shatter-shield and high pressure sodium lamps: $2.00
• Broken lamps: $5.00 each
