[ARCHIVED] Update from Blue Earth County Emergency Management

Emergency officials have been surveying damage sustained in local communities due to the high winds moving through the area throughout the morning and have damage reports for communities listed below.

Amboy had primarily trees and branches down. Lake Crystal had a large tree downed, as well as a power line. Mapleton had several trees downed and power outage. Vernon Center had a substantial amount of trees downed, power outages and a commercial building lost a portion of its roof. Good Thunder had trees downed, as well as power lines. Eagle Lake had minor tree damage.

As a reminder, residents of Amboy, Lake Crystal, Mapleton, Good Thunder and Vernon Center are asked to place tree and brush debris on the curb for pick up by City staff.

The Blue Earth County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) phone lines will be deactivated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22. If residents have questions about the storm damage, they may contact Mike Maurer, Blue Earth County Emergency Management Director at (507) 304-4808.
