[ARCHIVED] Open House Scheduled for Area's Long-range Transportation Plan

Attend an open house meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 30 for the Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) at the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza.

The meeting will provide information about the planning process for the 2045 long-range transportation plan including existing condition data, multi-modal transportation alternatives, traffic analysis information and future travel demand forecasts.

Since citizen input is important and helpful, citizens are invited to provide input about transportation issues, needs and opportunities.

Materials and informational displays will be available at the open house. Written comments will be accepted until Thursday, November 13. Email or send to:

Some activities currently underway with the assistance of SRF Consulting Group and Bolton & Menk include:
? - evaluation of existing conditions
? - identification of critical transportation issues
?- forecasting future traffic conditions
? - developing preliminary plan goals and objectives

The long-range transportation plan began in July 2014 as a cooperative effort between the cities of Mankato, North Mankato, Eagle Lake, and Skyline; Blue Earth and Nicollet counties; and Belgrade, Lime, South Bend, LeRay and Mankato townships, as well as the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Stakeholders make-up the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which guides the study process.
