The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recently awarded Blue Earth County with the Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This accomplishment is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Blue Earth County has obtained the award for 26 consecutive years by demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story within the CAFR document.
