The Blue Earth County Recycling Education Committee has a rare opening for a volunteer member. The ten-person committee is a hands-on, working committee in which members have the opportunity to create and take part in opportunities to help educate people on what to recycle and how to recycle.
Meetings take place on the first Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Environmental Services Office located on third floor of the Government Center at 410 S. 5th Street in Mankato. In addition to regular committee meetings, volunteers take part in other events promoting recycling education throughout the year such as the annual Earth Day event at the Library each April.
Applicants must be residents of Blue Earth County and interested in recycling and the environment. To learn more about the committee or to complete online application materials visit www.blueearthcountymn.gov/REC. Letters of interest, as an alternative option to the online application, may be sent to Jean Lundquist, PO Box 3566, Mankato, MN 56002-3566.
