OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
BLUE EARTH COUNTY, MINNESOTA

June 20, 1995





The County Board of Commissioners met in the Commissioners' 

Room at 9:00 a.m. Present were Chairperson Leon Tacheny, 

Commissioner Colleen Landkamer, Commissioner Lin Barnes, 

Commissioner Al Bennett, Commissioner Alvis More and County 

Administrator David Twa.



Commissioner Barnes moved and Commissioner Bennett seconded 

the motion to approve the amended Agenda. The motion carried.

The Commissioners reported on meetings that they have 

attended since the last Board meeting.



Judge Moonan swore in the Board as the Board of 

Equalization.



Mr. Jerry Kallheim, Deputy Administrator/Land Records, and 

Mr. Jerry Sader, Assistant Assessor, presented the following 

appeals to the County Board of Equalization.

The meeting reconvened at 1:15 p.m. with the following

The County Board deferred action on these tax appeals until 

Tuesday, June 27, 1995 at 1:30 p.m.



Commissioner Barnes moved and Commissioner Bennett seconded 

the motion to approve the amended June 13, 1995 Board Minutes.

Commissioner More moved and Commissioner Bennett seconded 

the motion to approve the following Bills: 



Bills for Week of June 19-23, 1995



Grand Total $3,199,705.81



The motion carried. 95-212



Commissioner Barnes moved and Commissioner Landkamer 

seconded the motion to exercise property options. The motion 

carried. Commissioner Tacheny voted nay. 95-213 



Commissioner Bennett moved and Commissioner More seconded 

the motion to authorize the Board Chair and Vice Chair on behalf 

of the Blue Earth County Building Authority to execute a deed to 

the County for the Government Center, 410 South Fifth Street, 

Mankato, MN:



FOR VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, Blue Earth County Building 

Authority, Inc., a Nonprofit Corporation under the laws 

of the State of Minnesota, Grantor, hereby conveys and 

warrants to the County of Blue Earth , Grantee, a 

Political Subdivision under the laws of the State of 

Minnesota, real property in Blue Earth County, 

Minnesota, described as follows: Lots One (1) through 

Eleven (11), Auditor's Plat No. 3, Mankato.

Mr. Al Forsberg, Public Works Director, discussed the 

Stadium Road Project.



Commissioner Landkamer moved and Commissioner Bennett 

seconded the motion on the following Proclamation: 



Whereas competitive sports for youth is helpful in 

teaching the principles of sportsmanship and fair play 

to the students thereby contributing to better 

citizenship; and



The Mankato Loyola Team has won the Section 2A Title 

and participated in the Class A State Tournament. 



The citizens of Blue Earth County wish to congratulate 

and recognize these exciting accomplishments; and 



It is appropriate to designate June 26, 1995, as 



"Mankato Loyola Baseball Team Day!"



Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, by the Blue Earth 

County Board of Commissioners that the Mankato Loyola 

Baseball Team be congratulated on behalf of the entire 

County of Blue Earth on their outstanding athletic 

accomplishments!



Be it further resolved, that June 26, 1995 is hereby 

proclaimed



"Mankato Loyola Baseball Team Day!"



The motion carried. 95-215



Commissioner Landkamer moved and Commissioner Barnes 

seconded the motion on the following Proclamation:
