Child Foster Care

Foster parenting is a commitment to help a child and family through a specifically difficult period by providing consideration, understanding, and guidance to the child. Blue Earth County has approximately 50 licensed child foster care providers. Our providers care for children who have been abused, neglected, abandoned or whose parent is unable to take care of their children for a variety of reasons.

North American Council on Adoptable Children has several pre-adoptive and adoptive support groups each month.  One meets on the first Monday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  This group meets at the Nicollet County Office Building at 2070 Howard Drive in North Mankato.  The second meeting is held on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  This meeting is held at Pediatric Therapy Services located at 150 St. Andrews Drive, Suite 310, Mankato.  Additional information can be obtained by calling (507) 380-4916.
