Battery Disposal

Battery Disposal in Blue Earth County

Many batteries need to be recycled due to the heavy metals they contain. These batteries may be recycled at the Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility from residential users, free of charge. These batteries include:
  • All rechargeable batteries (Don’t forget about cordless phones, drills, screwdrivers, etc)
  • Button Batteries. From watches, hearing aids and other items
  • Lead acid batteries (These are vehicle batteries. Although the HHW Facility accepts them free of charge, other places may pay you for them)
Non rechargeable alkaline batteries do not require recycling but we take them for recycling at our Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility.
