A precious metal dealer means any natural person, partnership, or corporation, either as principal or agent, engaging in the business of buying secondhand items containing precious metal (silver, gold, or platinum), including, but not limited to:
- Jewelry
- Watches
- Eating utensils
- Candlesticks
- Religious and decorative objects

Online Application and Payment Form is available for purchasing a Precious Metal Dealer License. A printable copy of the

Fee & Validity Terms of Licenses
A license costs $75 and is generally valid for one year, per location, from date of issuance. All other rules and regulations are outlined in MN State Statute 325F.731 through 325F.744.
