Driver's Licenses / State ID Card

If you are new to the State of Minnesota, you are required to take a written test to obtain your Minnesota license.  Please go to www.drive.mn.gov to schedule your test.  All written tests are done at the State Exam Station located at 2161 Bassett Drive, Mankato.

State Identification Card

  • Submit proof of identity.
  • Verification of physical disability or mental disability needed for special fee I.D.
  • Have a photo taken.

Driver's License (First Time Application) 

Note: Applicants under 18 of age must have the application signed by parent or guardian and their signature must be notarized.

  • Submit current driver's license.
  • Take vision and peripheral test.
  • Have a photo taken.
