Protect, Enhance, & Restoring Natural Resources

Working with representatives of broad interests, the county will create a comprehensive vision for protecting, enhancing and restoring natural areas, greenways and open space.

The County's Project Goals

The project will:
  • identify and prioritize natural resources, corridors and greenways for conservation management. Develop and implement comprehensive plans that preserve, protect and restore important natural resources corridors and greenways.
    • Wetland Conservation Management Plan
    • Master Plan for Mining Reclamation
Blue Earth County and Watonwan County received a Clean Water Fund grant from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to develop mining reclamation and wetland management plans.
