Interim Use Permits

An interim use permit is a zoning permit that allows a property owner to use their land for temporary uses in a manner not otherwise permitted by the Blue Earth County Code of Ordinances.

A request for an interim use permit is taken before the Blue Earth County Planning Commission in the form of a public hearing. The Planning Commission makes a formal recommendation to the Blue Earth County Board of Commissioners. The Board of Commissioners take final action on the request.  The process for an interim use permit is the same as a conditional use permit and the standards for interim use permits were adopted on August 25, 2020.

Note: The Blue Earth County Planning Commission does not consider interim use permits for Mankato or Lime Townships or for property located within city limits.
