Safe Sleep for Infants

Current Minnesota state law requires licensed child care providers to:
  • Place an infant on his/her back to sleep in an approved crib for every sleep
  • Place infant on a firm mattress with a tight fitting sheet, with nothing else buy the infant's pacifier in the crib
  • Obtain annual Sudden Unexpected Death (SUID) training for self and all substitutes, assistants and helpers
  • Conduct monthly crib inspections and annual recall checks
