Duties & Responsibilities
This specialized division is responsible for conducting child protection investigations, as well as the investigations of reported maltreatment of vulnerable adults.
Child Protection Investigations includes reports of both physical and sexual abuse and reports of child neglect. The investigator receives specialized training on specific procedures that are utilized which have been specifically designed to achieve the most productive child interview.
Vulnerable Adult Investigations encompass the 3 areas of adult maltreatment- Abuse, Neglect and Financial Exploitation.
Investigations of this nature involve a cooperative effort between this division and other agencies, such as Human Services' Child Protection team members and the County Attorney’s Office.
