The Blue Earth County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility and Product Reuse Center are opening for the 2019 season on Tuesday, April 2. The facility, located at 651 Summit Avenue, will be open noon to 6 PM on Tuesdays and from 8 AM to 12:30 PM on the second Saturday of each month through the end of October.
Items accepted at the facility include hazardous wastes from households in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur counties and farm chemicals from Blue Earth County farmers. Proof of residency of those counties must be shown upon arrival. Products should be in their original containers, if possible, with labels attached. Examples of items accepted include paints, stains, household cleaners, automotive products, batteries, and yard/garden chemicals. There is no fee for this service.
The Product Re-Use Center contains items (in good, usable form) that have been dropped off by others. These items are available free of charge to residents over the age of 18.
