Work on a multi-year renovation and addition project to the Blue Earth County Government Center, located at 410 South Fifth Street in Mankato, will begin Monday, March 5. Kraus-Anderson, the project’s construction management firm, will be erecting a fence around the future construction site.
Citizens are encouraged to park along Fifth Street, which will remain open during the project, and use the Fifth Street entrance to gain access to the building. Signs will direct citizens upon entry to internal departments, including the License Center, which will remain in the lower level of the building. The entrances in the back of the building will be maintained as emergency exits only.
The project is planned in three phases beginning with the demolition and reconstruction of a parking ramp, followed by a building addition, and finally, the renovation of the existing building. The entire project is slated for completion in late 2020.
