Blue Earth County has been named the 2017 recipient of the County of the Year award from the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT).
MCIT honors the county that has set the standard of excellence in risk management and loss control. The award was presented on Monday, December 4 during their annual membership meeting.
Blue Earth County earned the distinction through its commitment to risk management and loss control, its aggressive efforts by leaders to educate and inform staff on techniques to reduce exposures, and provide outstanding assistance when claims arose.
“The dedicated involvement by all county departments and staff is what lead to this honored award – they have made safety a priority,” said Bob Meyer, Blue Earth County Administrator.
MCIT is a joint-powers entity made up of Minnesota counties and associated public entities that provides compensation coverage as well as tailored risk management and loss control services to its members.
